This ‘folk community’ and ‘common blood’ he talks of suggests that his philosophy of nationalism or ‘statism’ was really racism in disguise (Kangas 23) as this excerpt from Mein Kampf conveys: “The German Reich as a state must embrace all Germans and has the task, not only of assembling and preserving the most valuable stocks of basic racial elements in this people, but slowly and surely of raising them to a dominant position” (Mein Kampf 398 [1962]). In describing the Aryan race, Hitler could find no wrong. He attributed the world’s progress in science, technology, and art almost exclusively to Aryan and traced the successes of foreign countries to Aryan subjugation of those countries (Mein Kampf 164-165). He talked of the “dark shroud of a new barbarian era” (216) that would cover the earth if the Aryan race ceased to exist. To prevent a halt in world progress, Hitler believed that it was imperative of the Aryan race to remain pure. “Those who do not wish that the earth should fall into such a condition must realize that it is the task of the German State in particular to see to it that the process of bastardization is brought to a stop” (226). By ‘bastardization’, Hitler doesn’t refer to children born to unwed mothers; he speaks of the interbreeding of the races, particularly people of Aryan and Jewish descent. Furthermore, Hitler was decidedly against the pan-German movement in Austria (in which the German language was imposed upon Slavs) because h, not language or culture (Staudinger 47).

Great bunch of real men and women with commitment. But with as much bite as a 90 year old. I know they are not policemen you say. Well why are they taking on the role.

A tragic picture of Salford is about to emerge when a new `Community Strategy’ is launched in May. Salford Star got a sneak glimpse of the draft document. And the facts about the city are well shocking…
• Almost a third of our kids live in poverty
• Life expectancy for our men is over 3 years less than the average English bloke.
• Life expectancy for our ladies is almost 3 years less than the average English woman
• 40% of our community don’t have the equivalent of 5 GCSEs
• In the most deprived neighbourhoods of our city the unemployment rate is 50%
Despite millions and millions of pounds of public money being poured into the city to help sort out these problems (and loads more) over the last decade, Salford remains in the top 5% most deprived areas in the country. And all this before the recession.
Meanwhile, Salford’s authorities admit for the first time that projects like The Lowry and Media City have excluded Salford’s community…
So what are they going to do about it? Er, they don’t know…but come back in 2024 and they’ll have it sorted!

Lost in a by election i have any thought on what went wrong with yours.
I failed on two occasions,Labour seats to sure of my self. Changed tact started writing my own focus leaflets and i won. Labour hate me but who gives a damn, my advice to any one who as lost, get back on your bike and fight the buggers, it don’t come easy.
Are our policies election winners or do people still see us as the pipe and slipper brigade?
Well labour went to New Labour And The Tories are well i don’t know. But what are we doing wrong, Why are we struggling. Do we need to change image.do we need to be more radical. or less. Where in the political arena do we stand?Any comments.
Is Scrutiny Really working within councils or are we going through a process with little real use??,
As an opposition councillor i attend scrutiny, the majority party are labour, what concerns me is apart from myself and a couple of tories the labour members never really quiz a decision, yes i know what you are going to say but some of the decisions are terrible and they understand how the people within the city will suffer,but carry on, it is Labour policy so we can’t really go against it. I always felt it was none political but of course it is. It breaks my heart but no choice we have to fight on regardless.Any views
