'Good samartian' A580 rapist charged

A man who posed as a good samaritan, offering to give directions to a woman on the A580 East Lancs Road, then viciously raping her, has been arrested .

At 12.30am on Sunday 17 May 2009, a 50-year-old woman was attacked and raped by a man who offered to show her the way to Salford Precinct after she was waiting at a bus stop on Eccles Old Road.

The public have been appalled by this cynical crime against the 50-year old mother.

The man led the woman along Eccles Old Road, across Langworthy Road and into the subway under the A580 East Lancashire Road. He threatened to kill her and then raped her.

Salford council today becomes a media frenzy why because Hazels in town and comes for a free Lunch.

19052009079 Comment today i supported a Labour statement over the abuse of MP’s Expenses and asked that we come together to offer our condemnation. This time of year is the high point of the Council calender it is where all councillors sit to welcome the New Mayor, all of the Swinton South Councillors wished him every success, we felt though the attendance of Hazel Blears was more an attempt by her to garner support and try to shore up her ever decreasing position and all but overshadowed a celebration of Salford’s Civic Institution, for these reasons we did not attend.

I found this on the web site of Salford Labour.

STATEMENT ISSUED BY SALFORD LABOUR GROUP.

At a meeting held last evening (19th May 2009) The Labour Group of Salford City Council gave consideration to the issues of MPs expenses/allowances. Labour Councillors expressed dismay and in some cases disgust at the abuse of the system by a minority of MPs. The Labour Group re-iterated its position in regard to the behavior of elected representatives and Public Servants:

“The public has the right to expect the highest standards of behavior from its elected representatives. They should not do anything which would bring their position and/or office into disrepute”.

Comment . I for one fully endorse the above statement. i personly believe that this should go further. In my opinion any one who stands for public office, be it for parliament or for local council who abuses the issue of expenses should resign or their group should de select them as a matter of course. Today i have heard the British Prime Minister make nothing but weak excuses, it is far to easy to go into defensive mode. in support of members. I will over the coming months be raising a number of issues at Budget scrutiny i feel now is the time to act quickly to restore the faith of the people we represent.. Not only members but officers who hold senior rank must be aware of their responsibilities for the public purse.,

AN ex-Guardsman branded the BNP “scumbags” last night for using his photo and faked words on an election flyer.

Source The Sun

Former Scots Guards NCO Stuart Walker, 37, was shocked to see a picture of himself in uniform outside Buckingham Palace on a poll leaflet.

Beside it, implying he would back the racist party in the Euro elections, were words criticising kit shortages and soldiers being “abused” by Muslims.

Stuart, who left the Army in 1997, first knew about it when it dropped through a relative’s letterbox. The dad-of-two, now a corporate manager in London, said he rang the BNP’s offices to complain and was told to “f*** off”.

He told The Sun: “I was completely outraged when I saw this leaflet. I think they got the photo off a website and the quote they’ve made up. They are scumbags and I’d never vote for them in a million years.”

The BNP is also reported to have used shots of US actors and Italian OAPs to represent British voters.
