Do we as political groups sometimes not take the long term view of policy decision and only take the easy option of quick wins.
I sometimes look back on decisions where opposition was taken without serious longterm views. We cannot afford to object solely on the fact it does not fit our train of thought at this moment in time or on the whim of certain individuals. strategic policy making must by it’s nature take in extreme case scenarios i think we fail on all counts in this area. Perhaps we often have selfish interest where we fail to grasp the problems we may cause with our negativity. I hope in the longterm we adopt joint working practices in key areas which may cause policy differences in the short term but the ability to reap long term goals.
Been on the valley today to meet with some residents.
I had a range of cases today and it’s great to go and meet residents, three sorted and one ongoing. One really showed me a gaping flaw in how we deal with residents as a council. One issue concerned comunity charge collection and how we deal with residents who fall behind. Not happy with what i saw and i await feedback on Monday but this issue will not be going away. We must have a format where our residents are helped to deal with problems in a quick and polite manner.Sorry to say we are going backwards.
Well i don’t know what you think of Richard C & Roger B but my stats are going up.
Just past the 18,500 hits mark. And i love reading the comments even if they get a bit strong sometimes. What ever you view i hope you don’t mind if i don’t censor, it spoils the articles. I think we should be able to have a place to speak freely and throw out the PC label.
