For the first time in many years i am lost for words, i have allways believed in the right of all to be able to speak freely and openly, on this Blog i have allowed some comments which i have felt were close to crossing the line of common sense and decency.But i allowed them to stimulate debate. Sadly the advertiser have published some comments of which i feel deeply distressing and also disturbing.
Mr Alan Turing with his work saved thousands of British lives during world war two, he was homosexual in those days it was illegal, i found the comments stating he was a pervert sad and misguided.
Comments on Allah
I no very little relative to religion only to say we have no right to criticize other peoples beliefs.Who is to say what is right or wrong. I hope there is a God, my family are practicing Catholics my wife’s priest came and gave strength to my family in our hour of need,i feel i will allways be in his debt, i have worked for a Jewish company for many happy years there practices seemed strange to me as an outsider but it is what they believe in traditions formulated over thousands of years. So why should i criticize Islam or any one else again these comments were misguided.
Sex education
In Salford we suffer from the highest figures in teenage pregnancy good god surely we should strengthen our work on sex education.
Like all the candidates i say good luck and may the best man or women win, but it breaks my heart to read this, and i am sorry the advertiser felt it was fit to print. It borders on gutter Press,i really do not fell any fit editor would print it.

i think this comment is off the real Roger Berry and again it says it all in so few words.
As a rule I would disagree that a leader should be made a scapegoat in what must be an incredibly difficult job but in this case I think that such is the attention on the person that it’s making the job more difficult for the staff under him and if for no other reason he should step down.
Mr Berry echos by feelings on this matter, we may have a dig at each other but i understand the Lead member is honest with his feelings for the youth of our city. Sadly things are not working,and i believe things are not getting any better. I would respectfully request he step down and allow someone else within the Labour group to pick up the pieces.I am comcerned also that by the support offered by the leader of his group it could show poor judgement which i feel will have long tern effects on his party.I do not seek political capital and i am not happy at the rantings i am seeing on the internet which i hope stop and serious debate starts.

Well, I’ve seen the Lib Dem’s backtracking on scrapping Tuition Fees and their commitment to cuts in Public Services. Can’t say I’m that impressed and I doubt the people of Salford will be either.
