Hazel Must Go To Appear On Panorama
The Hazel Must Go Campaign will be featured on the BBC Current Affairs Programme, Panorama on Monday 7th December.

The Campaign, which was originally set-up with a call for Ms. Blears to step down after the expenses scandal hit the headlines, is now looking for an independent community candidate to stand against her in next year’s General Election.

The programme will follow the activities of the campaign since the public meeting it held in September, which attracted over 100 people and featured former Independent MP and War Correspondent Martin Bell as a Guest Speaker.

If your thinking of going for a Chinese don’t ask Cllr W for advice.

  • London China Town not a patch on Manchester, the best outside China!
  • Just been for a cheap & cheerful Chinese buffet in china town, NOT! Horrible worst Chinese I’ve ever had. ?
  • We have good Chinese in Swinton South support our Local business.

You confused?sounds a bit like New Labour can’t get anything right.

One of the Cases Mole Junior was dealing with today.

Stafford 2 Eight cases we had to day from Homeless residents,

to  a 91 Year old lady without care, and then we have to deal with this. Do you every wonder what your kids get up to.? just think if it was your house. So Mole Junior as to drag environmental officers out to deal with it. By the way people are quick to have a go at this department, my view if we had the responses from other departments as fast as this one we would win awards. They deserve recognition for the work they have done for residents within this ward.Well done to all.

Well it been a funny old day out with Mole Junior doing our crime survey we had not got the first Thousand out and the first ones started coming back.

Before i mention any more on the survey thank you to all the people who spoke with us. Had to laugh a couple of times, we were on a Doorstep and i noticed the Lady we were talking with was in the midst of some repairs, she had put newspaper up at the window i turned and jumped back in shock when i saw who was staring back at me.30112009021Any way it was a productive day. We called into Urban Vision to deal with some work we picked up and came on some more later.30112009023The residents did say it kept the speeding Motorist down, perhaps the Money wasted on the Lang worthy Hotel could have been used to buy some extra tar? But hang on what this? well it’s a start i wonder what i job these guys could do with the investment?30112009022

Part of a Comment from Cllr Lindley and for the first time i agree with him fully, he as hit the nail on the head.

There is no incentive for the Labour Councillors to vote to move meetings to the evening, when so many of them are in receipt of extra allowances.

Of the 36 Labour Councillors, they have 10 Cabinet members, 8 executive support members, 5 (of 6) scrutiny chairs, the chairs of licensing and planning, the Mayor and the Deputy Mayor, who all receive special responsibility allowances. That’s 27 of 36 receiving extra money on top of their basic allowance.

By contrast, just 3 of the 24 opposition Councillors receive special allowances direct from the Council – the leaders of the Conservative and Liberal Democrat groups, and the solitary opposition scrutiny chair.

I should add for completeness that outside bodies also pay special allowances, and these break down as 6 Labour (2 Fire, 2 Transport, 1 Waste Disposal, Police) and 2 opposition (1 Fire, 1 Transport).

We should make the role of Cllr Fully open for people of all walks of life or roles.
