Quick question to residents.
When you get your community charge bill do you think oh my god.
I do, so when the chance came this year and there was to be a freeze i felt success at last. For two years as the Liberal Democrat budget spokesman i have tried to highlight waste,and to put the money where i felt it would be better used. But you see that’s only my view it may no sit well with others.And the reality is Labour where elected to RUN this city and until there is a change they will always control the purse strings THAT IS A REALITY. The Liberal Democrats on the other hand when i was first elected could not even be bothered to put out a budget, the first year of my election i sat in that council chamber ashamed. So i took on the role as Budget spokesman i worked hard, but i fully understood that what we suggested would not be excepted THAT IS FACT. All we where doing was going through a process that we could use on electoral leaflets saying if we were elected this is how we would do it. And sadly thats all the Liberal Democrats are doing now,Don’t let them try to fool you into believing they could have changed any decision on Budget day.I will fight for all sections of the community i represent, but the hard facts are to do that you must talk to the ruling group of the city to get the help you need,The liberal Democrats well i had never seen any sign of working together to get any end result.It’s not Supporting Labour all i can see is working to get a result for the people of this city.I fought with my son against the Congestion Charge Labour supported it they lost and one man lost his seat defeated by the people and that is the way it should be you take a stand and you ether stand or fall on that decision. Over the next eight weeks you will see parties trawl the gutter to score points against each other,we as independents hold no political stance we are asking people to support us on our record and that alone.Of course there are a range of policies that we feel could help this city grow and support it’s people, over the next couple of week’s we will deliver to as many doorsteps as we can.Our strength is growing and we will field candidates at the next local elections. The choice will then be with the people of this city.And they alone will decide it’s future.

No I cannot – the group has made no decision in this regard. When the results come in we will look at how the electorate voted and consider how best to achieve Lib Dem policies and how to best respect the wishes of the electorate.

Perhaps Cllr Warmisham was right all along.
This is why i became an Independent, Could you see the Tory and Liberal Democrat leadership working together? i can’t it would not last a week. And who will suffer the people Of Salford.
Well thanks again to the officers from the Council who helped with the Valley community centre.
We met with the Labour lead member and Officers, again they sat and listened and came up with the answers. Within three days the residents had a follow up meeting and the matter as been resolved.They will get the help they need to find funding for their groups,sub groups set up and officer help is on hand to guide them.This is what we do as councillors we try to find the answers no throw blame every where,some you win some you loose but you use the pot of money the best way you can.
