Sad really Salford Liberal Democrat Deputy leader shows his true self Again.
I remember when i joined the party i met Cllr Perkins,he held the same role.I felt he was someone who handled the role well, always polite and willing to listen, in all honesty a pleasure to work with.
What ever his reasons for leaving the liberal Democrats i felt a thank you for the work he had done was in order, not so instead he was attacked in the paper and a picture of him was hung in the Liberal Democrat office as Judas and in the frame where 30 pieces of silver.
I think in all honesty this is what the Liberal Democrats are all about. My problem i never saw it till to late. so what ever attacks they put out against me, calls to the press etc, it offers no worries to me at all .
If any one who as taken the time to read Cllr Cookes Blog you will see a number of attacks all ready.
- I support Burglars he admits he was wrong but leaves the post on his site.
- I have called A former colleague mad? The sad part i have an email where she calls her self Mad Mary. it’s a Nick Name. the sad part is we may have fell out politicly but she will always have my respect.
- And Calling people Nazi’s!
- I would give him a red rosette but he would not feel special any more.
I think people should read it to see what you are really voting for.
I will be putting out a range of email’s over the next couple of weeks on leaflets to give some understanding of my reasons for stepping down it will show the type of letters i have received, My concerns over the vote splitting, letting in the wrong candidate, and the candidate that we will be backing i feel will offer a far greater choice for the people of Salford and with luck will be joining with us. This as not been an easy choice, over the past week i have been working the ward and talking to the residents and they have made my final choice for me.
One thing i must add, how the Labour and Conservative parties have behaved. we may disagree on points, but their standards far outlay the shocking behavior i have witnessed over the past four weeks. i think one thing tonight sums every thing up when we have turned down £8,000 pounds as a group and asked the other parties to follow with no results, the Leader of the Liberal Democrats says i have bottled it and do not wish to loose £ 500 truly a sad day for Salford politics.
