well the brass were at the civic today to look at cctv, shame i could have taken him on the valley and asked why it’s taking so long there?

Shame these people don’t come around and see the real problems. Well we are told it will not be long, and today City west wish to meet to discuss the valley, i hope they have lots of time. One senior officer agreed with us over partner agencies being insular i wish others where so honest. We had a good result today lets hope they keep coming.

I liked this comment on one Tory Candidates Blog

My primary concern was and is, the nature of people i would attract to elected office, mainly the party hacks, who hold onto their seats at all costs. at the expense of independent people who can’t get selected, and are less attracted to staying more than one term, IF they do make it. These are the people who make local politics real and keep it in touch with reality.

Sorry Richard you are getting things wrong.

I have just had a call to watch your latest video on u-tube. Your attacks on the lesbian and gay residents across this city is getting very stale.I would class my self as heterosexual, i have many friends with working within the catering industry who are gay,yes it’s not a lifestyle i would choose and at 55 years of age i don’t think i would ever change, but what right have i to make statements in line with your comments which are hurtful and close to inciting hate within a community that just wish to get on with their lives.I have a cousin who as fought very bravely for this country he is gay but he choose to put his life on the line OK he as now left the army after reaching the rank of colour Sargent and he lives with a man,it’s not really front page news these days.unless you no different. As to me stepping down and offering my support to David Henry why should that cause such a problem? yes i understood his politics and is gender, can he do the job i felt he had a chance to offer change. But it’s up to the people to vote how they feel fit, i put out what i believed to be an honest view, but my view means nothing i am like you just one vote it’s up to David to prove his worth.

Was the the start of the end for me i suppose so.

 Liberal Democrat Scrutiny Farce

You may recall that in the last leadership report we highlighted the hypocrisy of the Liberal Democrats in attempting to block the HMR funding for Seedley South. When we reached the scrutiny committee the proceedings became even more farcical with Geoff Ainsworth refusing to answer any questions and Cllr Owen stating that he never actually supported the call in he was merely supporting the community!!

This illustrates a wider problem with the Liberal Democrats that they are quite prepared to support contradictory decisions as long as they are popular.

So completely unsuccessful was the call in – that the labour party representatives voted against it as well as the Conservatives even Joe O’Neill could not stomach the complete about face that Norman was proposing.

Obviously our Langworthy colleagues will use this in the election campaign but we should remind the rest of the city how Liberal Democrats cannot be trusted to provide leadership or not to change their mind.

It really winds you up when you have people who think they can cut down trees start a bonfire at 10.30 at night and get blind drunk and make a racket. So its time to pay a visit, this one looks like it could be one problem thats needs urgent attention. What ever happened to community spirit?
