Do Liberal Democrat policies represent change?

Voters have had enough of the “tired choices” offered by Labour and the Conservatives, according to Nick Clegg, the Liberal Democrat leader. Do you think that the Liberal Democrats have the policies required to change Britain for the better? Are you worried that beneath the spin, Nick Clegg’s party simply offers more of the same? And is there a danger that a surge in support for the Liberal Democrats will make it more likely that Gordon Brown will stay on as Prime Minister?

From the Debate

  • The champions of demagoguery being Clegg and Cable.
They would ruin this country, they are a bunch of amateurs and opportunists.
They do not represent change in any way, just more of the same old Socialism

  • Coming Soon
They might well have a charismatic leader (unlike Labour) but they still have the same brain-dead policies they had before.
A vote for the LibDems might well be a vote to get Brown back into power.

General Election 2010: Nick Clegg’s appeal ‘will last as long as an insect bite’

“We don’t need a hung parliament. The priority must be the best interests of the country not the self interest of political parties haggling over deals.

“If we want to get rid of this tired and failing Labour government then voting Lib Dem will put that at risk. Don’t forget, the Lib Dems have a history of propping up Labour governments.”

In her most personal attack on the Lib Dem leader, she compared him to a clegg, a type of horsefly. “The bite swells up, is immensely irritating for a few days, goes back down and leaves a nasty blemish,” Miss Goldie said.

    Any comments?

    SALFORD NHS COSTS

    Star date: 19th April 2010

AS AXE FALLS ON NHS JOBS, SALFORD HEALTH DIRECTORS GET ALMOST £1000 PER MEETING!

Following our story last week about Hazel Blears’ husband picking up almost £80,000 for attending meetings at Salford Royal Hospital, today we reveal that Salford NHS Trust non executive directors – including Peel Holdings’ Paul Newman, Salford councillor Joe Murphy and Brian Wroe ex Salford Council Assistant Director of Community Services – have been picking up almost £1000 each per board meeting.

We also reveal the true horrendous costs of the PFI redevelopment of Salford Royal (formerly Hope) Hospital, and how a new doctors’ surgery in Blackfriars is costing four times more than existing practices.

Meanwhile, cost cutting in the NHS is leading to hundreds of jobs being axed.
