Well it was good to see David Henry Tonight on Tv

Think what you will of David, but scratch away at the surface you will find a young man who is passionate about this city and it’s people.As a family we voted for someone who had the will to fight Hazel and the Labour Machine his mistake he should have stuck to a campaign that if lead well and held tight to it’s premise of outing Blear s would have had more of a fighting chance. His trump card his youth, i and others will be working with him over the coming years and if i am still around in five years time i hope we will be in the position of standing for a party that offers change, a  party that as the policies and a party that as a ground swell of support to win. We will have the bonus of the downturn in the Liberal Democrat vote and this must be our first target what ever else follows will be a bonus.

Last week saw Nick stand in for the PM at Prime Minister’s Question Time – first Liberal to answer questions at PMQs since Lloyd George in 1922. At least this man fought for the poor,some how i could not see him cutting benifits  ,

Just had some sad News

John Poole a long time friend and colleague has died, he was the Liberal Democrat Councillor for Winton. We worked together for many years and he was a colourful guy hard working and will be sadly missed by many.I will miss you mate.

I have just spoken with the press over this story and to be honest i would love to know what the hell is going on.

‘Naked child’ email shame of Salford council workers

A dozen town hall workers have been disciplined after an email featuring a naked picture of a child was sent around office computers.

The message, which included other images of youngsters which were also ‘unpleasant’ but not pornographic, was circulated around departments at Salford council.

We have computers for business we use them as tools, what the hell must these people be thinking about,unpleasant but not pornographic i have been told what one image was and i would be more inclined to take serious action against people who act in such stupid and irresponsible ways.Perhaps the It section of Salford council  should get it’s act together and be more stringent in it’s monitoring

Just been looking at the reductions in the Area based grants to Salford council.

The thing that struck me at first was where the cuts would fall, any long serving councillor would be less than surprised that many of the cuts mentioned have been brought to the attention of the council in previous opposition budget statements.I have always felt we had the money the problem lays in the the way the money is allocated. We must be the only people who except that £75,000 can go to a community radio station that no one listens to.i had raised the issues over Sustainable regen over two years ago while working for Cllr Owen and was ripped apart by Cllr Merry and Cllr Antrobus but when forced to cut they find £597,500.I think it shameful that a Labour run Council can cut £500,000 from family centres and still keep a paper that no body reads and an Ice rink that is a white elephant.The reality is money is wasted and if jobs go people must start to ask questions,our local paper looks for little more than gossip and cheap press they choose not to listen to quotes or views unless they fall from the lips of Cllr Owen or garrido what concerns me is how long can you print cheap shots or point scoring remarks without any alternative policy? Cllr Merry will continue to run this city unless people look for opposition with answers.
