Meeting today with the Deputy leader of the Green party

Early rise today we  were very lucky to have a Visit into Salford from Adrian Ramsay the deputy leader of the Green Party fresh from the great result in Norwich. Adrian was going with some of our members to help in the Hulme By Election and to a later gathering for local members to discuss many of the issues which have given Norwich greens their  great success. it was a pleasure to meet him and discuss how we see the changes in Salford.Photo Albert Spiby

Busy day today out with Cllr Martin O’Neill

Great to see one resident of Milner street will be getting her disabled shower after all and the roads have had their potholes filled. But the most pleasing for me to day is the follow up work which as been done on New Cross street i enclose a picture of the work.I find it sad that the amount of work one Councillor as had to do to chase up these issues. But it’s great to see the end results.16102010183

Dont forget..

One thing is now clear. The price of 22 Lib Dem jobs in a Tory government is that thousands of North West people will have to loose theirs.

Talking to one man yesterday who spent the night sleeping in a park and went and stood outside a Local Tesco’s to see some life.

Homeless-StreetsDo you ever wonder what state the under belly of this country is really in? how many people are using soft and hard drugs, unreported crimes.things that don’t always hit the local rags. No where for these people to go but sleep on park benches until they are moved on.The man i spoke to ysterday concerned me what future for him under this Governemnt,

Do you find this strange.

That a political group who never put forward alternative Budgets within local councils should get so vocal over economic policy and poor fiscal management, and yet never felt the need to put forward any form of alternative proposals?

The truth is that was the stance on Salford council.Any information that was needed was freely available to groups within the council as long as they elected a spokesman on finance. The officer who’s task to offer that information was available at all times and complaint to any request,of course the trick was to find the right questions.

I sometimes wonder did the Conservatives and Liberal Democrats in all there time in opposition never take the time out to question the fiscal stance of the country in depth,or were they compliant to the disaster that we now find ourselves in? surely even in opposition you must question robustly policy decisions that effect the economy, highlight your concerns to the extent you may never change that decision but can shout from the roof tops we told you so,or am i led to believe the Labour party hid every thing that well?some how i don’t think so.
