Congrats again to the the Salford Star, Credit were Credits due New Labour have won the award fair and square.

COUNCILLOR DEREK ANTROBUS!!!

Salford City Council’s Lead Member for Planning, scoops the `Read My Lips’ Award, just ahead of John Merry, for his pronouncement on the huge locally listed URC Church building (previously Salford Central Mission) on the corner of Trafford Road and Broadway, near Salford Quays.

The Council wanted to demolish the Church, despite its importance to the heritage of Salford, and plonk the controversial new Oasis Academy school on the site…mainly because it looked good as part of MediaCityUK (see here for further details).

At the planning meeting in February 2007 Councillor Antrobus pronounced…

“I’m not prepared to accept this [academy planning proposal] unless there’s a very clear commitment that the building will not be demolished

2nd December 2010: Votes to demolish the URC Church building.

Ladies and Gentlemen. The George Bush `Read My Lips’ Award goes to…

Councillor Derek Antrobus!!!

Applause.

Well what’s new the yanks thought Brown was Abysmal,i wonder will there be any leaks on miliband and new new labour, that would be fun.

The US embassy in London wrote off Gordon Brown within a year of his arrival in No 10 after concluding that an “abysmal track record” had left him lurching from “political disaster to disaster”, according to cables released by WikiLeaks.

In a scathing assessment of the former prime minister, George Bush’s last ambassador to London blamed Brown for presiding over a “post-Blair rudderlessness” which prompted senior Labour figures to complain of their despair to the embassy.

I can’t for the love of me work this one out!

WikiLeaks cables expose Afghan contempt for British military

President Hamid Karzai, Helmand governor and US commander criticise UK failure to impose security and engage with Afghans

We have men who should not be there, many who have died or have been blown to bits and these guys come out with this. Perhaps we should pass over the task and pop back home and leave them to sort out there own mess. I am really sick to the back teeth of people having a go at our troops. Sorry my rant for the day.
