I friend of mine posted this comment on Salford On Line

Councillor behavior and reaction to cuts

Are they interested in you or are their egos more important

Hello

Heres a thought! All of these councillors are supposed to represent the electorate 1st and party agenda 2nd? There have been a huge amount of cuts that have forced financial restructure and some painful decisions.

Councillors seem to have forgotten their duty to look after the interests of the electorate and run to the defence of their party agenda before looking after you.

As an outsider looking in they look like a group of infants fighting over the ownership of a prized toy and not at all interested in anything else.

You would think that they would try to create some cohesive plan of action rather than squabbling amongst themselves.

Its difficult to take any of them seriously anymore when they act like children and seem to be incapable of cooperating with each other in these turbulent times.

Maybe next time a local election occurs look at the individual rather than the party before you vote as some of the people that represent you do not have the necessary skills to act in your best interests.

Salford currently has 30+ labour councillors most of whom have no business or financial background and they are not equipped to act in your best interest.

This is a recurring theme across the country and it is the reason why most local authorities are in a mess, try to assess the person and not the party and think before you vote.

Mark

Just think of what he said, and think hard local Councillors are there to represent you they don’t need to belong to Labour or the Tories to do that, smaller groups or individuals can perform that task. Look at the man and not the Colour on his chest,In Swinton South last year people voted Labour i have spoken with dozens of people while canvassing they have never seen him,In Claremont the Labour Councillor never gave a contact number for months and this year in Swinton South Labour are putting up the Councillor who was de selected from Barton. not good enough for the residents of Barton but will do for South, not on.

Will the last Salford Liberal Democrat please turn out the Light

Labour 1291,
Conservatives 209,
English Democrats 125,
BNP 92,
Liberal Democrats 62.

If this does not prove my point that the Liberal Democrats in salford are not a spent Political force  then i will follow Councillor Bill Hinds and show my Bottom on the Council steps. Perhaps it’s time someone should be asking questions over the Leadership!!
