Public Borrowing Up and the FT dropping like a stone.

Looks like more money is being printed to stimulate the economy in the Good old USA and over here.interest rates look like dropping to an all time low and the Condems have no bloody idea what  to do. The funny part is the Labour Benches sit silent great when you are in opposition you sit there say nothing and hope the voters don’t notice, seems to have worked in the past for labour don’t be fooled this time.Ask any Labour politician local or National for a view i bet he sounds like homer Simpson when you get your answer…

Unprincipled Hyenas and Political Whores:the two faced truth about Clegg’s nasty party

No not my words page 17 of today’s daily mail Newspaper. Worth a read you can make your own mind up. Sad all this from a party whose leader topped the Television debates less than a year back a party that seemed to be growing and fresh with new ideas, today the outcast of the British Political System. Was it Wilson who said a weeks a long time in politics?perhaps he should have said a year.

Lack of School places

It was  Sad to read the Headlines last week in  our local Rag  in regard to the lack of School places within the City. Was this something that happened over night? No ,like any city  across The Country you would hope there is a planed response, you would presume that any Council worth it’s salt would take in to account  growth, a possible swell of migrant workers and of course the Birth rate. You would presume even a simple task of estimated need over the past 10 to 20 years and look closely at any patterns that emerge. For my part I found reading the column more frustrating due to the fact that I was tasked with the Role of Children’s services spokesman over five years ago when I sat with the Liberal Democrat Group within Salford Council. Of Course you are working within a small Group of people and in the Role of opposition but you still analyse the Councils plans and offer either support or your concerns. I was Lucky at the time to work with the Cllr For Weaste  Cllr Ainsworth ,the analytical Way he  had broken down the statistics and offered an outcome was sad to say what we see today, school shortages and lack of capacity. The reality was no one on the Labour Benches showed any interest to  our Concerns or the statistics. What we have today is a failure to listen we all understand Labour Control this city

But if they choose not to listen I start to worry are we seeing the pack mentality starting to rear it’s head? i don’t know but I fear for the future these issues could have been dealt with sensible, but what we see is a city that seems  to struggle just to meet it’s statutory responsibilities. Education today what will we see tomorrow.? Our Council leader Boast of people coming to live here did he not imagine their children would come also.

Comments from Clegg perhaps he should read his own scripts

“Our first big decision was to clear the structural deficit this parliament. To wipe the slate clean by 2015. This has meant painful cuts. Agonisingly difficult decisions. Not easy, but right.”

“Let’s say the Conservative government announced … ‘we’re gonna slash public spending by a third and we’re going to do it tomorrow because we have to take early tough action’ just imagine what my south west Sheffield constituents would think.”
