Salford Chapel Street traffic problems ‘should die down’
Motorists have been caught up in early morning tailbacks on the A6 in Salford traffic problems caused by the start of roadworks on one of the main roads into Manchester city centre should soon ease, a council leader has said.
John it’s a bloody nightmare i went to my dentist in Bexley square today one hour early.i ended up turning on to Liverpool Road. i barely made it. What we have is a Car park,Yes the idea would have been great if the so called planners had done there jobs and planned,Thoughtless and inept as per the norm.
If this is Salford Council’s way of trying to force people to use over priced public transport links then it clearly isn’t working. I wonder how the people in the surrounding areas are feeling about their elected councillors now that all the tributary roads are taking extra traffic and the inevitable rise in pollution from virtually stationary cars is likely to raise the level of asthma in local residents children?
Lining Chapel Street with trees purloined from an historic park probably won’t be enough to balance out this change in air quality.
Perhaps artificially causing major congestion is a stealthy way of forcing a review of the congestion charge project on everybody again?
Why do people vote for these ‘decision makers’? Surely the idea is to elect someone to represent your views and those of your neighbours; mind you its a bit difficult to get views across to people who patently don’t care about the people who have elected them. It seems to be a concerted front of minimum communication and minimum visibility – unless there is a photo opportunity or an election looming.
You are in the Minority someone with a voice willing to speak and willing to challange,if only we could get thousands more. You speak without anger but with sense and a person looking for answers our time will come.
Kevin what a pity you are not a member of the green party,we need people like you who are willing to speak out and to spread the word that the greens are here to stay, we tried to get a tree preservation order to save the 158 tress which are to be removed from Peel park(funny how the name Peel pops up everywhere). It was declined because the plans had already been approved. so now the question remains,if they keep their word and relocate the trees on a two for one basis and place them along Chapel street, where the hell are they going to put 316 trees? perhaps they will be used to provide shelter for the motorists stuck in the traffic in chapel forest !!!
