    • Answers on the site.. Why fight a battle when the odds are to great? The Last Cllr Died sadly with a high majority, you have a base where we only set up last year, you have two MPs
to call on, a massive war chest with all the tax payer funded allowances you take out of this Council. We are the new guys on the block we fight where we think we have a chance to win, our resources need to used carefully come back to me next May.perhaps the results will be a little different.

      • and i wish you all the best in swinton south, i will not contest this ward for you Joe, i will leave it to you, so get working it… meet me one day, and ill tell you how you can win

  1. Any sensible person left in the Salford Lib Dems will now either move to a different part of the country or else jump ship and join Labour, Greens or Conservatives in Salford.

Ideologically I think the Greens are closest to most of those people likely to be in Lib Dem membership these days.

Any Salford Lib Dems switching to the Salford Greens right now are likely to find themselves on the up and up and with opportunities for candidacies, activism and community service.

It’s obvious that the Salford Lib Dems are dead as a dodo.

Nobody would deny that Steve Middleton is a grafter for the cause, but surely he can see that he’s flogging a dead horse as a Lib Dem in Salford – and especially in sticking with the Plonker-in-Chief as right hand man/lap dog. He isn’t going to see a return for his loyalty to Norman.

If I was a typical Lib Dem in Salford right now – with no likelihood of moving area – I think I’d probably go over to the Greens. It’s the obvious move. Joe is a proven grassroots general and with a few more committed people (plus some money) on side I think the Salford Greens could mobilise enough force to rival Labour for two or three council seats over the next five years.

    • Do you never get worried about how offensive your comments are becoming? I think I have made it clear my views on the ethos of the BNP, But unlike you I don’t fear free and open comment. Your inference goes beyond even you.

    • Whats the problem John? Any party is better than Labour…. Im happy when labour lose seats, and yes to the BNP is better, but if not i am happy for any other party other than SWP to take the seats from under you

  2. “bnp embraces the greens” no John it should worry you that he thinks that we are a better alternative to Labour and the rest of the parties, perhaps he has realised that we do offer a fairer and more transparent alternative to the present system, even Richard Carvath has told Lib/dems to go green !!,now that should worry you !!!

  3. Mole 45 to accuse me of being offensive takes the biscuit you clearly do not like being challenged in the same way that you like to challenge me or others . I have become increasingly disturbed that your attempt to climb on any band waggon and Regs comment that he is pleased the bnp see you as a bettter alternative sums it up. in deference to your sensibilities i will try not to post in future.

    • Sorry John, yet again you have got it wrong, I am pleased that anyone from any political party sees us as a better alternative,or is it just that you cannot tolerate the idea that some people do change sides,as you will see in the near future. At least, Gary is out in the open with his views, all of which I disagree with, unlike some, who, run with the fox and hunt with the hounds.

      • Reg, with me, its what it says on the tin is what you get. Unlike some others i do not try and be some thing i am not… I am street wise, i know what my voters want and i know right from wrong

    • John we have fought like cat and dog in the council and both give each other respect. challenge me on any thing, I will always debate any issue with you. But to infer in your remark that I would be a kindred Spirit with the BNP WAS GOING TO FAR. Garry as the right to his views like the rest of us I disagree with his views, but I am an aspiring Politician, I like you must listen and counter. If you post go ahead if not then you will be accused of hiding from any views that differ from your own, you criticise the Star for offering an alternative and you criticise me, don’t take the easy option it shows weakness.

      • Thank you Joe, thats what i like about you, You are not afraid to let me have my say, and you respect me, in return ill respect you. You even took the time to talk to me and shake my hand at the last elections, David Henry was the same and you were nice and polite, this i can not fault.

I hope you get your seat back in Swinton South, I will tie up Labour

      • Garrry
You understand me and so long as there is no rascist, comment,no personal attacks or anything that may offend you are welcome to comment. I think you and every who visits the site understand my feelings on rascism but you are a Political Party and have the right to comment on Policy within Salford,it is up to the people to decide at the ballot box on what is right or wrong. Some of the comments i have recived from other areas of the Country from your Party i have had to take down, not to stop free speech but if i publish it must be sound and fair comment. Please if you ask a question make sure it is balanced and well thought out before you ask,we play the political game but when you are dealing with people make sure you do not over step the bounds,I like you will be fighting to gain peoples confidence and when i attack Labour it must be on there record or lack of it.Please do the same
        Regards Joe
