Good news from the lords

Remarkable triple defeat for government in Lords. Shame again on most LibDems, voting to cut benefits to dying and life-long disabled young

It worries me how the Liberal Democrats could be so spineless to vote with the Tories.

Can you believe this?i have just fell of the chair laughing.how bad have the Liberal Democrats got?

Claire Traynor from Aintree, had a document posted through her door with a Liberal Democrats news letter that claims people at certain addresses are “Nutters”.

A MERSEYSIDE woman today told of her outrage after a political party appeared to brand her and other voters as “nutters”.

The phrase was used by Sefton Liberal Democrats in a document naming residents blacklisted from receiving a party newsletter, which was accidentally posted through a neighbour’s door.

Trade unionist Claire Traynor, 32, and her partner were named with four others who live near her Aintree home in a column headed: “NUTTERS. Please DO NOT deliver to:”

Should we be asking the questions?

There are few more explosive issues at Westminster – and across the rest of the country – than that emotive question: ‘Do immigrants take jobs from British workers?’

For years, politicians have debated whether or not Labour’s open-door policy was responsible for an influx of workers which led to tens of thousands of Britons ending up on the dole.

This week alone, there have been two entirely contrasting reports on the subject.

the think-tank Migration Watch said it would be a ‘remarkable coincidence’ if there were no link between a surge in Eastern European migrants working in the UK – a rise of 600,000 since May 2004 – and a 450,000 increase in the number of young people unemployed over the same period.

Barely 24 hours later, the National Institute of Economic and Social Research (NIESR) boldly announced that ‘even during the recent recession, increased immigration was not associated with increases in claims for Jobseekers Allowance’.

Who’s right?the issue is not going to go  away and i really think it’s time it needs serious thought?

Thought of the day

Well i was thinking what do you get if you vote Labour in Swinton South, well for one a Councillor who can’t make meetings on a Tuesday. And two a Councillor who does not do two meetings in one day,Well that’s according to the Labour Chair of Children’s scrutiny. It really infuriates me that we have the highest rise in Child Poverty and our so called Councillor can’t be bothered to turn up to the  CHILDRENS  scrutiny committee. LABOUR at it’s best, the reality! love the name councillor but not so keen on what goes with it.  A vote for Labour is a wasted vote.
