Just in from the Bingham Street Residents Home watch Co-ordinator

Our local PCSO (Darren Betts) has advised that there has been an increasing number of break-ins locally.

Houses with older double glazed windows:
The common targets seem to be houses with double glazing with the beading on the outside of the windows (as opposed to more modern windows with the beading on the inside). The thieves are flipping the external beading out of the frame to remove the window pane to gain access.
Patio doors with safety glass:
With the patio doors they are putting pressure on the weak spots at the corners of the windows to make them shatter (this is similar to when a side window of a car is hit in the corner and the glass breaks into thousands of tiny blocks).

Bogus Callers:
There has also been an increase in bogus callers.

Please let other residents, who may not have access to Email etc., know so that they are aware.
