Well fancy reading some crap try this from todays sun newspaper.

“My New Year’s resolution for 2012 was to become disabled. Nothing too serious, maybe just a bit of a bad back or one of those newly invented illnesses which make you a bit peaky for decades – fibromyalgia, or M.E.”

“And being disabled is incredibly fashionable. The number of people who claim to be disabled has doubled in the past ten years.”

“I think we should all pretend to be disabled for a month or so, claim benefits and hope this persuades the authorities to sort out the mess.”

“It has become easier to claim those benefits, partly as a consequence of the disablement charities who, out of their own self-interest, insist that an ever-greater proportion of the population is disabled.”

The Salford Mayoral Result is in,and could this be the end of Councillor Merry and his band of followers?

In reality this must be the biggest slap in the face for new LABOUR in Salford, apathy again as shown it’s face from the people of this city, but the facts are there for all to see.John MERRY as responded to the gauntlet thrown down by the yes campaigners and failed miserably. What worries me is the fact that the yes campaign was so poor in the facts and figures it produced it  would have  embarrassed a 12 year old studying maths,to say they were inept and ill prepared was an understatement and yet they succeeded. We in the Green party spoke over our concerns in regard to this possibility and agreed that in the eventuality of a yes vote we would stand a candidate, and who ever that candidate is we will make sure that this person will get all our time effort to fight the yes campaigners that Mr Berg as thrown together,The BNP wrote to me today stating last night was a great result for them,i am truly sorry all the result had really shown is our system although one of the most democratic is ruined by apathy and failure of our local leaders to transfer an honest message to the people, instead they crawl along the baselines of politics to play at political point scoring, the reality of that leads to what we saw last night and those who will suffer in the long term will be the people who allowed this shambles to take place. What worries me also is the fact that media outlets like the Salford Advertiser failed to allow others to voice there opinions, they in my mind with the intense coverage they allowed to the yes campaign helped sway this vote in there favour, for the most people i spoke to had no idea of the real issues that may take place if a mayor was to be elected. I will of course be speaking as quickly as possible to our Chairman and the executive later next week to prepare our election manifesto this result will of course cause more strains on a busy period for us already but what ever happens we will fight ,
