Thought of the day

I wonder how many decisions made by LABOUR in Salford will be deferred only to reappear after the MAY  Elections? i could name a few can you?day centres,nursery provision, Cllr Merry speaks of losing a battle but wining the war,to be honest labours approach was so low key it’s opened the flood gates and if the voting goes a couple of % Points ether way there could be some shocks.

Fresh off the Salford Star,i wonder if the unions got there act together,the people voted on mass, and that people realised there is an alternative Labour would be forced to listen.

SALFORD COUNCIL CAVES IN OVER DAY CARE CLOSURES

Salford Council has done a major u-turn over withdrawing funding from Humphrey Booth and Craig Hall day care services following a campaign led by Salford City UNISON, carers, service users and community activists.

At 8pm tonight, Councillor John Warmisham, the Council’s Lead Member for Adult Services, hoisted the white flag…and Salford Council Leader, John Merry, informed colleagues “We will not be proceeding with the changes in 2012/13…”
