And Salford will be the only council in the North West offering full-time nursery provision for three and four-year-olds.
Interesting comment why,in reality Labour where planning a cut,i had gone to a School Governors meeting where the issue was raised, one suggestion was to keep the hours and charge families, what a situation to place local schools in many suffering from budget difficulties taking a chance the service would be used, to staff it ,and even find some one to collect the cash. The reality most schools would have dumped the service. Sad fact Labour again like the day care centres and the Deaf children buckled under what would have been political suicide. The issue as not gone away it’s on hold and my view it will face a cut. Cynical Labour at it’s best
Question is this one more favour Salford Labour Passed on to it’s residents? when they said it for the best and there is no alternative. How many of Labours Councillors sit on the board i wonder? If as we believe a 10% Cut in housing benefit raises it’s head and we see one more 5% increase in rents how will this affect the poor and low paid? vote Labour for all the benefits..
- Be honest do you vote Labour because mum and dad did?
- Do you Vote Labour Because you think they are the party of the people?
Well if you open your eyes and ask, why do thy never come around, never leaflet, and are never seen till elections.
BECAUSE THEY THINK YOU WILL VOTE FOR THEM ANY WAY. SO WHY BOTHER..
AND THAT’S WHY SALFORD IS IN SUCH A BLOODY MESS…
if John Merry fails to get expectance as Labours Mayoral Candidate does this show the reality of what the Labour rank and file really think of Salford Labours Policies?
Saddens me that one candidates supporters for Labour Mayor have descended into personal attacks on John Merry. Shameful.
One thing, we will be fighting a campaign on is honesty, not blatant falsehood. Cllr Merry for all is faults held up the point that it is impossible to reduce the community charge by 50% and he his right unless services are to be slashed jobs lost and a down turn within this city which would turn us into a third rate slum. I find it offensive that people can peddle this utter rubbish to the electorate.Check out the success or should i say the none success of the English Democrats,i always say the proof is in the pudding and in to be honest the English Democrats are as flat as a pancake.
Jenny said: “Winning for me would be to take a huge chunk of the platform. I have this mental image of these two dinosaurs battling it out, and it’s going to be very difficult to get between them, because they are such big personalities. But I see the Green candidate as the future.”
The reality? that to me is what i see when i think of Labour and the Conservatives, Dinosaurs relics of the past, perhaps it’s time we starting to think of the future.I have been lucky 56 years old and for most of that time each year as got better, perhaps it’s time in my life when i should be thinking of the future and others who will be coming next, there future.I don’t hug trees and come to think of it i have not met any Greens who do,i am on a learning curve with this party two days ago i renewed my membership so i am in for the long haul win or lose i hope to be still on line when we do make that break in to the Political main steam, we have one MP and a brace of MEPS and control of our first council things to me have never looked better.
vote green in may for real change
If you can find a bin that’s not full because of the cuts, don’t forget to put there promises in and close the lid tight.
