HOW TO CALL THE POLICE

HOW TO CALL THE POLICE
Roger Gresse, an elderly man, from Zanesville, OH, was going up to bed, when his wife told him that he’d left the light on in the garden shed. Roger opened the back door to go turn off the light, but saw that there were people in the shed stealing things.

He phoned the police, who asked, “Is someone in your house?”

He said “No,” but some people are breaking into my garden shed and stealing from me.”

Then the police dispatcher said. “All patrols are busy. You should lock your doors and an officer will be along when one is available.”

Roger said, “Okay.”

He hung up the phone and counted to 30.

Then he phoned the police again.

“Hello, I just called you a few seconds ago because there were people stealing things from my shed. Well, you don’t have to worry about them now because I just shot them,” and he hung up.

Within five minutes, six police cars, , a helicopter, two fire trucks, a paramedic, and an ambulance showed up at the Gresse residence, and caught the burglars red-handed.

One of the policemen said to Roger, “I thought you said that you’d shot them!”

Roger said, “I thought you said there was nobody available!”

How absolutely disgusting is this for a sitting Salford Councillor Mr Howard Balkind to come out with this in a open internet forum,i honestly think that Mr Howard should take this man to standards

Comment by Cllr Howard Balkind ( member ) 17th June 2012
To Reg Howard ? who the hell are you. Possibly the biggest mouth in Swinton. Blowing hot air. I invite you to sit on the panel as well. You are not a liar you are just t—-.

What is a T— Mr Balkind is this how you behave when you can’t win an argument you are a disgrace and should do the decent thing and resign.

Swinton South Cllr Howard Balkand calls community action party deputy leader a LIAR.

I am absolutely flabbergasted at the tone of argument emanating on Salford Online between the elected   Labour  representative from Swinton South and the Deputy leader of the Community Action Party, the Language i believe is excessive and the tone lowers the post of  a Salford Councillor and brings the office  in to disrepute.   I would suggest both parties sit back a draw breath.when one lowers the tone to this level it concerns me over the type of characters we have in office.

Do you ever get up and think about something that wont go away no matter how hard you try, it always sticks in the back of your mind.

I mean lets look at the Supermarket to be built in Swinton,we have a number of issues.

  • Residents who will lose their homes.
  • Shops that will have to close
  • Job Losses
  • Over capacity and sustainability.
  • Traffic
  • The environment
  • A  number of dead bodies.
  • Parking
  • Road safety
  • Noise
  • Just a few issues that i could think of, i bet people reading could think of a few more.

So the residents who would loose their homes first big issue, well according to our Local kersal Councillor they have all been rehoused,i wonder where? social housing!! my first question would be why were they given notice by the company who ran them, even before any planning was agreed, and of course did the residents not have to go through the intense process of taking the company to court etc before they where rehoused,i ask because i tried to get one young girl rehoused three streets away she was in a home and the landlord was making threats and making  life a misery for this girl and her young baby but i was given a list she had to jump through before this girl could get a home if she left she would have made her self homeless she could take no more, so she moved back with her mum in to overcrowded conditions, but i suppose they were not building a supermarket on her home.It must be infuriating also to the many in Swinton who have sat on the housing list for years to go further down the line.

It worries me also over the issue of compensation pre any planning being agreed, that to me it looks bad some people may say one of the issues was taken out of the planning process even before agreement was reached ,if the home owners were being compensated what of the  shopkeepers or people losing their jobs? why were they any different?

Sustainability to be honest Asda in a smaller form would have been welcome, what we have today are three large supermarkets all plying for trade in one of the smallest radius imaginable.  The road system cannot take the demand, and the pressures on all three to compete will destroy any small business  services that would care to compete.

Road safety will i feel become an issue along with the traffic,  and environmental problems will be hard to contend with.

And of course the bodies which according to  our local Labour councillor reside in a dog toilet surely

some respect could have been shown and the building went around the grave yard, but no i suppose cost will be an issue. What worries me is what have the Three Swinton South Labour Councillors done to look and deal with all the issues, they say we have spoken at planning, well lets be honest they may fool a few readers on Salford online with that one,but the panel is made up of Labour Councillors,if you can’t influence your colleagues with any form of rational argument i would give up,we all understand the process may make you look good but it’s wasted, many of the issue will come back to haunt them over the next 18 month, and to me when they attack local activist for speaking up for the people and fail in their own task only to appear when there is a bandwagon to jump on they fail the people and the system they say they represent.
