Interesting that a you would jump to the defence of a political adversary. I guess that it is true that all left wing parties all hold the same beliefs. How did the greenies vote on the illegal war in Afghanistan? Dont tell me, I already know. You are complicit with labour, conservative, and libdems in sending our soldiers to die in a war that has nothing to do with British interests. You have the blood of hundreds of our brave soldiers, and countless innocent Iraqis/afghanis. Say it aint so.
Wrong sorry to say Keith,i was against the war and if you had taken the time to read the Blog it’s quite clear, i have received comments on the blog from serving American service men and have shown pictures of the graphic nature of the war. What i do object to is simple,Cllr Merry, Cllr Owen and Garrido are elected representatives of the people i can disagree with their politics but i have no right to make insulting remarks similar to the ones that appeared on a BNP blog and i do find it sad that one BNP member put links from this site to it. Yes i have left wing views like many others accross this country i have made no secret of the fact but i argue policy not insults to the person. Secondly i have no blood on my hands i support our forces 100% and for your information the green party members i know want our troops out….

Or should i say cut outs.I had to hold my self back from laughing yesterday i called in to Morrison s in Swinton to get some bits with the Mrs,and i thought i would kill two birds with one stone,so i went and filled up with DIESEL,to my surprise as i went to pay i bumped into one of our local bobbies, well i tell a lie,it was a six foot cardboard cutout of him stood next to the newspapers. It seems he is there to deter crime. So when you think we never see a copper on the street you are all wrong under this Government we have cut-out ones,i honestly think we are turning into a third world country when we resort to this what’s next, solve your own crimes books for DUMMIES?
Former communities secretary Hazel Blears denied describing the last Labour government as sometimes “wicked and malicious” at a fringe meeting, and claimed she was talking about Eric Pickles.
But a tape of the meeting has since emerged which casts doubt on her version of events that she gave to Andrew Neil on Tuesday’s Daily Politics.
Ms Blears has been offered a chance to further explain her comments
GMB further said that these official notices for 8,500 staff at Sheffield, coming on top of the notices for 26,000 in Birmingham, nail the lie that this government’s policies will not cost jobs and will lead to reduced services for the public and inferior terms and conditions for staff.
The union confirmed that it had just received from Sheffield City Council the official HR1 forms on Friday regarding 8,500 staff employed by the council covering changes to terms and conditions and job levels.
Paul Kenny, GMB General Secretary speaking from the Labour Party conference in Manchester said, “These official notices for 8,500 staff at Sheffield, coming on top of the notices for 26,000 in Birmingham, nail the lie that this government’s policies will not cost jobs and will lead to reduced services for the public and inferior terms and conditions for staff.
“Service users and service providers in both Sheffield and Birmingham will fight to protect services and jobs in both major cities. The blame for this reduction in services and in jobs lie firmly at the door of David Cameron and Nick Clegg.”
Albert s pictures offer a sense of the anger spreading out accross this city in reaction to the cuts put in place by the Tory Liberal Democrat government
At 12.00 the ranks had began to swell,it brought back memories of times i thought i had seen the last of. Union leaders putting forward a case for action against an unjust Government,it was Sad only one Councillor from the City turned up to listen to the speeches made with passion from members of the union and the general public. I would have hoped if possible that at least one representative from the ruling group would have shown, but that was not to be, it was obvious that the Tory or Liberal Democrats would show little interest in the proceedings but a party who’s leader won his battle with union support you would have felt someone would have come to listen, at one point a disabled man in a wheelchair took the mike, as i held back my feelings as he tried to offer support to the ranks of people who turned up it made me feel the fight was worthy of the name.
