SALFORD HAS 38 BIDS FOR EACH AFFORDABLE HOME
A new report from Salford City Council shows the dire state of affordable housing provision in Salford, with 38 bids being made on average for every affordable home, despite thousands of people being kicked off the official housing waiting list this year.
As a multitude of unaffordable apartments get built in the city, there will be just one social rent property delivered this year and none next year. Meanwhile, the elderly and disabled are also facing a crisis of affordable housing.
