Balfour Beatty sells Salford PFI stake for £22m

International infrastructure group Balfour Beatty has disposed of its 50 per cent interest in the Salford Hospital PFI to HICL Infrastructure Company for £22m.

It said the deal generated a gain on disposal of £11.5m and the proceeds exceeded directors’ valuation by £8.3 million. PFIs have been a mill stone by an out of touch Government and opposition not fit for purpose.
