One more sad reality story off the star

This morning, new Greater Manchester Mayor, Andy Burnham, met Manchester’s street homeless as he launched his Mayor’s Homelessness Fund, aimed at ending rough sleeping by 2020.

Burnham avoided the Cornerhouse squat, which has been taking in street homeless for 19 weeks and is the most visible campaign against rough sleeping in the city… “I’d love him to come and talk to us because I’ve got loads of ideas that involve more than going out at 8:30am getting photo opportunities” says Chris Blaine from the squat “His Mayoral Fund isn’t going to make any difference at all…”

The  Star to me offers the base realty of life where promises made on campaign trails are generally not worth the paper they are written on.
