SALFORD COUNCIL SPLASHES £200MILLION FOR OFFICES – WHILE ASKING SALFORDIANS TO PAY FOR BABY UNIT ROOF
Salford City Council has found £200million to ‘invest’ in new posh office blocks at 100 Greengate and Two New Bailey – while passing the begging bowl around the city asking Salfordians to fund a new roof for its baby unit.
The Council states that the ‘investments’ are ‘expected’ to bring £2.2million a year into its coffers but it represents a massive gamble with public money. The Council is still paying for empty offices at One New Bailey.
