PUBLIC TO BE LOCKED OUT OF ‘PUBLIC’ SALFORD COUNCIL TOWER BLOCK FIRE SAFETY SCRUTINY MEETING
Star date: 24th July 2017
FIRE SAFETY ‘PUBLIC’ SCRUTINY MEETING CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC
A panel meeting which is supposed to publicly scrutinise Salford Council’s dealings over fire safety in the city’s tower blocks is to be held behind closed doors tonight.
The whole point of these ‘scrutiny’ committee meetings is to be an open and transparent process of councillors, in public, holding the Council and the Mayor to account. But tonight the meeting is to be held in secret. Why?
Thanks to the Salford star for keeping the city in the LOOP.
