Real Peoples views on allowances and our MP’s

Perhaps the PM would like to extend this over the whole of the working population – you get paid to do a job, you get paid a bonus (if you are a banker or civil servant) for doing it and you also get paid for turning up to work. Yep a definite vote winner – is that how it works on your planet Gordie?

Never mind giving them 200 quid a day attendance allowance. On their wages,I propose docking them 200 quid a day if they don’t turn up! Put clocking machines, with clocking in cards at the entrance and sack anybody who gets their mates to clock them in.Welcome to the real world!!
Is It Me?,
Not a chance the allowance will be scrapped, it will have a name change thats all, no MP will be out of pocket on this new proposal. This is just Brown trying to win votes from the electorate, saying he is doing soemthing about it…..never trusted an MP, and never will – these let are worse than people who commit benefit fraud.

maybe 600 or so flats should be bought in various areas of london and MP’s allocated at random and moved around; it might help them get a feeling for how real people live in real estates

22/04/2009 at 21:44    I have said this many times before, lets build a new parliament near Coventry. Purpose-built with accommodation (flats) provided for MP’s. Move the whole seat of government out of the most expensive part of the UK to a cheaper option. Then we can leave the palace of Westminster as a tourist attraction. I wonder how many MP’s will want to spend time in a purpose built city near Coventry. They will be in and out like a shot.

MPs may scrap homes allowance. There goes that word agai “MAY” that covers a multitude of sins in the political world “MAY” GIVES THEM TIME TO WORK OUT HOW THEY ARE GOING TO REPLACE THE MONEY THEY LOOSE IF THE SCRAP THE ALLOWANCE.

I think many of our MP’S Bleers included will be in for a shock, to long on the gravy train to little time in Salford. I wonder do these people forget why they got into politics, it’s the same with councillors basic allowances they should only  cover basic out of pocket expenses. Liberal Democrats in Salford tried to cut special allowances most Labour members have but guess what voted down by Labour.
